Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards in Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Security Supervisor

Title: Security Supervisor

Location: Ottawa, ON

Type: Full-time

Salary: 25$ per hour

Shift: Availability Required - 1600-0000, 0000-0800 --- 24/7 weekend/stat holidays

**Must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years continuously**

Overview:

Allied Universal is currently searching for a Security Supervisor. The Supervisor will embrace our company's core values. The Security Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services. will act as a liaison between customers, the Security Manager, and security professionals. Supervise site staff, providing coaching, recognition, and discipline within the approved empowerment range.

Responsibilities:

  • The Security Supervisor shall be a working member of the Security Shift and will be one of the guards on duty. The individual will coordinate and control all security matters on the site. Perform regular patrols of the site and surrounding areas to ensure the security of the premises. Monitor all entry points for unauthorized access.
  • Maintain high visibility at the designated posts. Ensure security coverage near sensitive areas within the site.
  • Enforce site access protocols by verifying the identification of authorized personnel, logging visitor entry and exit, and ensuring that gates and doors remain securely locked when not in use.
  • Maintain clear and constant communication via radio with other security personnel. Report incidents, unusual activities, or security concerns promptly.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. Contact emergency services and assist as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and patrols. Complete shift reports and provide detailed handover notes for the next shift.
  • Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to site materials and equipment. Ensure all property is secured at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the site and surrounding areas by addressing any security risks or safety concerns that arise during the shift.

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard license
  • Standard First Aid CPR Level C
  • Ability to complete Use of Force training curriculum
  • Crisis Management De-Escalation
  • On-site and online training related to similar environments
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possesses effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner
  • As a condition of employment, employees must successfully complete a background check
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client-specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in various conditions, including outdoor environments with extreme weather such as cold, snow, rain, or heat; running will also be required.
