Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior Electrical Estimator to join our Client's estimating team, with experience in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) projects across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, timelines, and Client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids for ICI electrical projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate estimates.
  • Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and technical information.
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.
  • Track and analyze historical cost data for use in future estimating.
  • Assist with value engineering and provide alternative solutions to reduce costs without impacting quality.
  • Prepare tender and bid documents, including scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market pricing, and competitor activity.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating within the ICI sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices in Ontario.
  • Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external Stakeholders (Vendors/Sub-contractors, Client)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Flexible with travel to GTA sites as needed
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field is an asset.
