Job Title: SAP Developer/ SAP ABAP Developer (Contract)
Contract Duration: 3 years
Location: Regina, SK
Work Type: Remote with On-Site Availability as Needed (Saskatchewan-based projects)
Job Overview:
  • Our client is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to provide expert-level development support for ongoing and upcoming SAP IS-U projects.
  • The successful contractor will work primarily off-site but must be available to support on-site activities during critical project windows, such as testing, go-lives, and after-hours deployments, often scheduled over weekends.
  • This role will primarily focus on SAP ABAP development, but candidates with experience in SAP Gateway, OData, and SAP BTP/CPI will be highly valued for their flexibility and ability to support additional project streams if required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide full-cycle SAP ABAP development support for ongoing and new SAP IS-U projects.
  • Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • SAP ABAP Developer participates in the planning, execution, and support of go-live activities, including off-hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Develop, test, and deploy custom ABAP reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms specific to SAP IS-U.
  • Leverage SAP Gateway and OData services for integration and mobility requirements.
  • Contribute to integration efforts using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) where applicable.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of code and system configurations.

Required Qualifications:
  • SAP ABAP Certification (mandatory).
  • 10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with a strong emphasis on SAP IS-U (Utilities).
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • SAP Gateway & OData Services
  • SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)
  • Proven ability to support project work across various stages, including development, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).
  • Previous experience working with utility sector clients or projects.
  • Strong understanding of system integration practices and security protocols.

Additional Details:
  • This is primarily a remote position, but the candidate must be available for on-site support during project milestones (e.g., UAT, cutovers, go-live support).
  • Must be available for after-hours or weekend work when project timelines require it.
  • Contract duration and workload will vary based on project prioritization and delivery timelines.
