THE ROLE

As a forklift driver, you will be working in a steel manufacturing facility, preparing steel to be shipped out. This is a great temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a mid size facility for a reputable and leading company in steel distribution industry. You will be working in a team environment on the day or afternoon shift. This is a growing company that is very busy right now. This position is located inHamilton on a bus route.

**MUST have a valid external forklift license***

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct a daily pre-inspection and operational check of the equipment and work area before the start of the shift, and before or after each break or lunch schedule, or more often if needed.
• Record pre-inspection results and submit weekly.
• Material Handling using forklift
• Loading of the trucks
• General warehouse duties

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years experience as a shipper
• Must have a forklift licence that is current
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Steel manufacturing experience
• Work safely and follow all company policies, procedures, and work practices
• Have a great team attitude and willingness to help
• Good communication skills
