Our growing company is looking for a motivated Estimator to be part of the Company Sales Department. This role is best suited foran individual with previous experience as a Application Engineering or Controls Technician. The suitable candidate will haveprevious engineering, estimating, sales or operation background with HVAC design knowledge, networking, technical knowledgeand construction estimating experience.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Estimator will be responsible to manage opportunity estimates for new construction andservice opportunities for new and existing customers. This involves working with the sales team, project management office (PMO) and service department to identify project scope, estimate costs, provide preliminary execution plan, technology selection, risk analysis and develop preliminary solutions. The Estimator will assist with proposal development and quotations during the bidstage, provide input for negotiations and hand over to the PMO upon contract award. The estimator may also assist in project change orders and service contract estimates. The estimate will work closely with suppliers, contractors and customers tounderstand scope, negotiate competitive pricing, work with trade unions (IBEW) and provide technical guidance as needed. Theestimator plays a key role in the Company's growth strategy by providing accurate and competitive estimates in the market. Mustbe able to work under pressure, work independently and pay attention to a variety of complex technical and contractual details. Strong analytical abilities, working knowledge in spreadsheets, Microsoft software suite like visio and understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings are essential.

Responsibilities:

Project Estimates

• Reviews scope, drawings, specifications to create estimates and work closely with OC sales team, projectdelivery teams and stakeholders to develop a competitive and accurate bid.

• Reviews project schedules and develop a preliminary project delivery plan

• Accountable to keep track of bids, bid deadlines and ensure timely bid responses

• Engagement with delivery team to get project buy in and ensure proper bid approvals are followed

• Work with PMO to ensure all estimate and project documents are properly organized for use by PMO

• Track win loss and ensure estimate accuracy, analysis and ensure competitive pricing is continuously improved

• Keep up to date with various industry control products used and ensure up to date costs are used during estimate

• Follow up with contractors to ensure quotes and proposals were delivered and received. Ensure estimatesreflect scope and ensure breakouts are properly identified and presented

• Engage in estimate reviews and provide input on win strategies and tactics to ensure cost competitivenessand identify value added scope items to differentiate project submission

• Minimize risk by understanding scope and contractual obligations. Develop a risk

analysis to quantify any contingencies as needed

• Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers regardingproject scope definition and understanding during estimating

• Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure project scope is understood, including what isincluded and not included in the estimate.

• Contribute to the team effort in overall project execution by supporting and estimating change order requests for projects.

Change Order Process

• Reviews change requests from general contractors and customers

• Price change requests by obtaining the necessary input from Engineering, Installation and Technical Teams

• Ensures accuracy of scope and pricing presented.

Service Projects

• Attend customer sites to understand and develop service project scope

• Work closely with service team to ensure project scope is defined and estimated based on an outlined projectplan. As OC is proposing a solution directly to customers, we need to ensure a quality solution that is pricedaccordingly to represent our value.

• Work with the sales team as to present proposal and solution used

Service Contracts

• Provide estimates for service contracts to reflect the level of service for a customer

• Work with the sales and service team to understand customer issues and ensure they are addressed in theservice contract. Ensure multi year contracts are achievable and profitable.

• Work with the sales team to present the solution and contract

Other

• Training of self and others

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous Engineer, DDC Technician or controls Electrician

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work under pressure.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail oriented and strong multitasking skills

• Strong organizational planning skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Able to Work independently with minimal supervision.

• Collaborate with field and office staff.
