Job Description

Are you an experienced electrical designer with a passion for precision and innovation? One of Stellar's long term engineering clients is searching for an Electrical Detail Designer to join their team! The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the electrical systems of complex projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable designs that meet stringent codes and standards, and ensuring client and class requirements are exceeded. Responsibilities:

  • Create and refine sustainable electrical designs, including 3D modeling and 2D production drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards
  • Develop and interpret single line diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, and perform necessary calculations to support design integrity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design meetings, and coordinate with related parties to ensure cohesive project execution
  • Conduct thorough checks of engineering deliverables and production drawings to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with VSY Engineering Processes
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior designers, fostering professional development and ensuring consistency in design practices
  • Offer technical support during production phases, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain project timelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Certified Electrical Technologist Diploma
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment, preferably with a background in shipbuilding or electrical field work
  • Expertise in CAD software (preferably CADMATIC), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with Canadian Engineering standards and codes
  • Registered or eligible for registration with ASTTBC or Engineers of BC
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with strong technical writing skills for producing detailed specifications and reports
  • Willingness to travel as required and adapt to overtime work schedules to meet project demands

Pay Rate: $42-47/hour
