Head of Finance – Treasure Mills
The Opportunity
Treasure Mills is seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Head of Finance to lead and elevate its finance function. This is a unique opportunity to shape the financial direction of a growing food manufacturer that is scaling rapidly across retail and distribution channels. This role is not a traditional back-office finance function—it's a strategic leadership role, working closely with the CEO and executive team to align finance with business growth. The Head of Finance will own all aspects of FP&A, cost management, data infrastructure, internal controls, and team leadership, helping to build a scalable, insights-driven finance operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting across all departments.
- Build dashboards and KPIs to support decision-making in sales, operations, and supply chain.
- Support costing accuracy, margin tracking, and provide financial input into supplier and customer discussions.
- Lead the evolution of the company's finance systems by enhancing the use of its ERP platform (Spire), improving reporting capabilities, streamlining workflows, and driving better financial visibility and analytics.
- Streamline and automate financial processes, procedures, and reporting systems; implement internal controls to enhance accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely, accurate reporting and unified financial data infrastructure.
- Drive financial accountability and cross-departmental visibility of key metrics.
- Develop and lead operational performance reviews (financial management reports & KPIs) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion the annual operating and capital budgeting processes; align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Oversee general accounting functions including payroll, AR/AP, costing, cash flow, inventory, fixed assets, and tax compliance.
- Work with production and supply chain to manage cost, forecast, and improve budget planning processes.
- Review gross and net profit margin results and report monthly across business units and related entities.
- Analyze and present financial results clearly and accurately; prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process; liaise with external auditors, finance advisors, and the executive team.
- Provide oversight of day-to-day accounting operations through leadership of the finance team (Bookkeeper, AP/AR, Order Entry).
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance finance culture grounded in accountability and operational insight.
Candidate Profile
- Must-Have Qualifications
- CPA designation or MBA/Finance degree.
- 7–12 years of progressive finance experience, ideally in a mid-sized or growth-stage company.
- Experience leading all aspects of a finance function in an entrepreneurial or founder-led business.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communicator—able to clearly articulate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles including product costing and margin analysis.
- Familiarity with distribution, logistics, and supply chain finance within a manufacturing or CPG environment.
- Ideal Experience
- Exposure to food manufacturing or adjacent industries is an asset, but not required.
- Experience supporting commercial teams with pricing, trade investment, and customer profitability analysis.
