Recruitment Specialist – Hybrid

We are hiring a Recruitment Specialist on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer in St. Thomas. This is a hybrid role requiring a regular on-site presence with some flexibility to work from home. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting high-volume recruitment for hourly, blue-collar roles in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for various hourly positions in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Source candidates through job boards, community outreach, referrals, and online platforms.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines using diverse sourcing strategies, including social media, networking, and direct outreach.
- Conduct pre-screens and coordinate/conduct in-person interviews to assess candidate suitability.
- Extend job offers and manage the onboarding process, including reference checks and documentation.
- Facilitate weekly in-person new hire orientations covering company policies and safety protocols.
- Represent the company at career fairs and local recruitment events as needed.
- Maintain accurate records for applicant tracking, recruitment metrics, and turnover data.
- Ensure recruitment practices are in line with employment legislation and internal policies.
- Provide an excellent candidate experience through timely communication and a transparent process.
- Support HR projects and team initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education in HR or a related field preferred.
- 1–2+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally in a high-volume, manufacturing, or blue-collar setting.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation (ESA, AODA, Human Rights Code).
- Proactive, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with technology, recruitment software, and MS Office tools.
- Skilled in creative sourcing techniques, including social networking and direct outreach.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
