Associate, Commercial Litigation

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex commercial litigation matters including securities litigation, insolvency, regulatory proceedings, shareholder activism, and construction disputes.
• Draft and review pleadings, legal memoranda, and court submissions.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on intricate and emerging issues.
• Manage litigation files and support senior counsel throughout the litigation lifecycle.
• Represent clients before courts, tribunals, and regulatory bodies.
• Participate in strategy sessions and contribute to business development initiatives.

Requirements

• LL.B. or J.D. and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• 4–5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, ideally at a leading law firm.
• Strong legal writing, advocacy, and client advisory skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to navigate client needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative, proactive, and professional approach to legal practice.
