Position: Electrical Design Technologist

Location: Scarborough, ON (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

Salary: $32 per hour

Job Type: 11-month contract through April 2026

Our agency is partnering with a leading Ontario-based utility provider to hire an Electrical Design Technologist for a long-term hybrid contract. This role offers the chance to contribute to essential infrastructure projects powering one of Canada's largest urban regions.

You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that bridges design, engineering, and field execution. Ideal for professionals with a strong background in electrical design for utilities, energy, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

- Review and update single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring layouts, and electrical/civil design plans

- Draft and mark up designs using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

- Ensure designs comply with CSA, IEEE, NEC, and other applicable standards

- Conduct site visits to validate asset conditions and design fit

- Assist with engineering calculations, material takeoffs, and cost estimates

- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Electromechanical Technology

- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (required)

- Familiarity with GIS tools; experience with DMS or SCADA is a strong asset

- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License (required for field visits)
