Role Title: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Power BI)

The Company

Overview of Position

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Power BI), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI, to deliver insightful visualizations and reports that support decision-making processes for marketing.

You will collaborate with marketing stakeholders, and other analytical specialists to define visually engaging dashboards to generate business insights and track KPI's. You will work with other IT professionals to transform data from various sources, automate data feeds, ensure data accuracy, and optimize performance.

Key Activities

  • Develop interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to address marketing needs and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business and analytical stakeholders to define requirements, gather feedback, and iteratively enhance reports and dashboards.
  • Define measurement frameworks and business rules for KPI's
  • Design and manage ETL processes to transform data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Create and optimize data models, DAX calculations, and queries to ensure efficient and reliable reporting.
  • Optimize report performance and automation through proper data model design, query optimization, and report configuration.
  • Enhance over time, in response to user feedback, marketing needs, and additional data sources.
  • Create documentation for data models, processes, and reports.
  • Generate insights and conduct training sessions to empower users to leverage Power BI effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain quality.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and developing reports/dashboards using Power BI.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling in Power BI.
  • Experience with SQL and large relational databases for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualizations.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, and a keen interest to understand the data (sales, consumer interactions, marketing campaigns)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Business acumen in applying analytical insights to marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, to collaborate within a dynamic marketing and technical environment
  • Proficiency with other analytical languages/tools preferred (e.g; SAS, R, Python)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant quantitative discipline.
