What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of commercial underwriters to ensure strong performance, development, and retention
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Actuarial, Claims, Compliance) to develop tailored underwriting strategies
  • Guide and contribute to the assessment, pricing, and negotiation of risks across Property, Casualty, and Auto lines
  • Oversee underwriting quality, documentation, and adherence to guidelines and service standards
  • Collaborate closely with brokers to deliver customized insurance solutions and maintain strong business relationships
  • Contribute to process improvement, training initiatives, and change management efforts across the department

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of commercial property & casualty underwriting experience (mid-market focus; construction knowledge a strong asset)
  • Minimum 3 years of team leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience
  • Level 2 license; completion of, or progress toward, CIP/FCIP/RPLU or equivalent designations
  • Proven ability to manage broker relationships with professionalism and responsiveness
  • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to lead change and build a culture of continuous improvement
