Data Automation Engineer – Pharmaceutical - DST

Are you passionate about automation, data engineering, and driving efficiency in laboratory workflows? We are seeking a Data Automation Engineer to enhance high-throughput screening processes through innovative automation solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with expertise in liquid handling systems, data integration, and scripting automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and validate automated high-throughput screening assays for formulation and assay development.
  • Develop and optimize workflows using Hamilton liquid handling systems, ensuring seamless integration with laboratory processes.
  • Implement data automation pipelines to improve efficiency and accuracy in assay results.
  • Standardize automation methodologies for global deployment, ensuring consistency and reproducibility.
  • Maintain detailed documentation using electronic lab notebooks and IT tools, tracking progress against project timelines.
  • Monitor system performance, refine workflows based on data-driven insights, and implement innovative solutions to improve scalability.
  • Collaborate with scientists, technologists, and leadership teams to translate automation requirements into actionable solutions.

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in laboratory automation, high-throughput screening, or data engineering.
  • Proven expertise in optimizing liquid handling systems and automating data workflows.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Hamilton liquid handling systems, SoftMax Pro, and electronic lab notebooks.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, database management (SQL/NoSQL), and system integration.
  • Experience with robotic platforms, laboratory instrumentation, and workflow automation.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex automation challenges.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies, with experience leading automation projects.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
