The Opportunity:

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Software Team Lead to manage software development and operational support for a portfolio of business-critical systems. These systems include .NET web applications, modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and a SharePoint-based document management platform. Together, they support the delivery of key programs and services across the organization.

As the Software Team Lead, you'll guide a skilled team of developers and testers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, system enhancements, and responsive production support. You'll collaborate with Application Architects, Business Analysts, and Designers to translate user needs into effective technical solutions that enable sector-specific services and drive operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading software development and maintenance efforts across a range of applications that enable delivery of industry-focused programs and services.
• Managing team priorities across new development, system enhancements, and production support.
• Mentoring and supporting team members with coaching, training recommendations, and professional development planning.
• Promoting development standards and best practices, conducting technical design reviews and code walkthroughs.
• Collaborating with solution architects and analysts to ensure systems are scalable, efficient, and meet user needs.
• Reporting on team progress, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies to management.
• Supporting operational stability by ensuring effective processes and incident resolution protocols are in place.
• Participating in annual planning and aligning team goals with the organization's broader strategy.
• Developing and reviewing team performance objectives in support of both business outcomes and individual growth.

What You'll Need To Be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development and the system development lifecycle.
• 1–2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong technical background in either .NET development or GIS platforms (ideally ArcGIS 10.9 and VertiGIS).
• Demonstrated experience with system integration, data synchronization, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience using Jira for team task management.
• Familiarity with code review processes, test coverage, and release management is a plus.
