We're seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Property Manager to join the leadership team at a high-profile shopping centre. You'll be the engine behind the seamless daily operations of a large-scale retail property, partnering closely with a General Manager and overseeing cross-functional teams spanning operations, marketing, and security. Description
Leadership & Team Management
- Supporting the General Manager in leading day-to-day property operations with confidence, vision, and attention to detail
- Acting as second-in-command and stepping into the lead when needed — setting the tone for collaboration, service, and results
- Mentoring team members, encouraging growth, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Operations & Facilities Oversight
- Partnering with department heads to ensure a unified and effective execution of site-wide programs, from preventative maintenance and capital upgrades to seasonal events and sustainability initiatives
- Leading special projects and operational improvements — whether it's revamping tenant coordination, enhancing waste diversion strategies, or supporting new tech implementations
- Being part of the on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies, ensuring swift and calm decision-making when it matters most
Financial Management
- Keeping a sharp eye on the numbers: analyzing monthly financials, investigating variances, and helping to ensure the property operates on budget
- Participating in the development of the annual operating budget and long-term capital plan
Tenant & Community Relations
- Collaborating on initiatives to drive revenue, improve tenant relations, and elevate the customer experience
- Playing an active role in tenant relations, lease administration, and community engagement
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years experience in property management, ideally in Retail
- A seasoned property or operations management professional with a background in complex, high-traffic commercial or retail environments
- Must have a bachelor's degree.
- Must be living in Toronto, or close by.
- Financially fluent — you understand operating budgets, recoveries, and variance analysis
- Calm under pressure, with strong leadership instincts and a commitment to team development
- Adept at balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders — from tenants and vendors to visitors and executive leadership
- Organized, proactive, and able to juggle competing priorities without missing a beat
- Motivated by the idea of growing into a General Manager role in the future
