Overview:

Dacaro Services is working with a leading Canadian bank to find an experienced Storage Administrator with expertise in IBM storage technologies and enterprise-grade data replication, backup, and recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing IBM DS89K storage systems, replication strategies, and disaster recovery practices, particularly in regulated environments.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support IBM DS89K storage systems, including performance tuning and capacity planning
• Setup and configure IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) for automated and manual copy services operations
• Configure and manage IBM Metro-Global Mirror and FlashCopy for high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Work with GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex), including Logical Corruption Protection (LCP) and CyberVault components (asset)
• Configure and manage system backup and restore jobs, ensuring RTO/RPO requirements are met
• Design and implement inter-site data replication processes, ensuring secure and resilient data availability across locations
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure end-to-end storage performance and compliance with internal standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues and participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Storage Administrator in enterprise environments
• Strong working knowledge of IBM DS89K, Copy Services Manager, and data replication technologies
• Experience with Metro-Global Mirror, FlashCopy, and GDPS (with LCP/CyberVault) is highly desirable
• Proven experience configuring backup/restore solutions and DR planning
• Solid understanding of inter-site replication processes, including network and latency considerations
• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as banking or finance
• Strong documentation, communication, and incident response skills

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with mainframe environments and z/OS storage operations
• ITIL certification or familiarity with change/release management processes
