Senior Director, Talent Acquisition

Location: Toronto | Reports to: SVP, Human Resources

Position Overview:

A fantastic and a confidential opportunity has become available for a Senior Director of Talent Acquisition on behalf of a globally recognized professional services firm undergoing a bold evolution in how it attracts, hires, and retains top-tier talent. This is a mission-critical, high-impact leadership opportunity for a proven TA executive who is ready to reshape and elevate the talent function into a world-class, forward-looking strategic capability. As the company continues to scale across markets and modernize its people operations, the incoming leader will be entrusted with architecting a recruitment strategy that delivers on both volume and complexity—spanning high-profile C-suite hires to key functional leadership roles.

This role offers a powerful platform to drive transformation at the highest levels of the organization. With visibility across the enterprise and direct partnership with the SVP of HR and executive leadership, the Senior Director will lead the charge in building a dynamic, agile, and insight-driven Talent Acquisition function that delivers measurable business value and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

* Lead the design and execution of a global talent acquisition strategy that aligns with long-term organizational goals and the future of work.

* Provide thought leadership to executive teams and influence workforce planning, succession strategy, and organizational design through talent intelligence.

* Champion a proactive, data-informed recruiting approach that anticipates hiring needs and drives competitive advantage.

Executive & High-Impact Recruiting

* Personally oversee and execute senior-level and C-suite searches, ensuring rigorous assessment, discretion, and exceptional candidate experience.

* Partner with top leadership to deeply understand organizational priorities and tailor search strategies for critical hires.

* Leverage market mapping and competitive intelligence to target exceptional passive talent.

Operational Excellence

* Build and mentor a high-performing team of global recruiters, sourcers, and TA operations professionals.

* Drive operational efficiency by optimizing systems, workflows, and performance metrics across the recruitment lifecycle.

* Introduce best-in-class recruitment technologies, including ATS, CRM, and AI-enabled sourcing tools.

Employer Brand & Talent Marketing

* Enhance and scale the employer value proposition across global markets in collaboration with brand and communications teams.

* Leverage digital channels, thought leadership, partnerships, and strategic events to strengthen brand awareness and candidate engagement.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

* Drive inclusive hiring strategies that ensure equitable access and broaden the talent pool at all levels.

* Implement structural changes and team education to eliminate bias and embed DEI principles throughout recruitment.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Change Management

* Act as a consultative partner to business leaders, coaching them on hiring strategies, market realities, and team design.

* Lead change management efforts to elevate hiring maturity across functions and geographies.

* Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business units to ensure talent strategies are integrated and aligned across the enterprise.

Candidate Profile:

Experience

* Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.

* Demonstrated success managing full-cycle hiring for high-profile, senior, and complex roles in a fast-paced, global environment.

* Previous experience building and leading teams in matrixed or multinational organizations.

Skills & Expertise

* Deep expertise in executive search, sourcing strategy, and TA process optimization.

* Strong understanding of market dynamics, employer branding, workforce analytics, and recruitment technologies.

* Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, advise, and challenge at the most senior levels.
