Job Description

We are Systematix and we're currently seeking a skilled and experienced PERFORMANCE & AUTOMATED TEST SPECIALIST to support our client, a large power utility, in executing advanced test strategies for critical enterprise systems. This role involves developing and maintaining automated and performance test frameworks, designing and running test scripts, and analyzing test outcomes to ensure systems meet rigorous performance standards. The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in tools like OpenText UFT/QTP, LoadRunner, and ALM (HPQC), and has a proven track record of successful enterprise-level testing initiatives across multiple platforms including web, mobile, and cloud-based applications.

Location & Work Hours

Location: Preference is for onsite work in Regina, Saskatchewan. Flexibility for offsite may be considered if no local resource is available. Offsite candidates must submit daily summary reports.

- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST.

- Start Date: July 1, 2025

- End Date: June 30, 2026

- Availability: 90% utilization expected; occasional after-hours testing and overtime may be required.

- Security Clearance: Not specified, but candidates must have no disqualifying criminal history.

Requirements

Mandatory Education & Experience

- Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent mix of education and experience.

- Formal software testing training.

- Strong experience with:

• SAP and OpenText automated testing

• OpenText Functional Testing (UFT/QTP)

• OpenText Performance Engineering/LoadRunner

• OpenText ALM (HPQC)

• Creating and executing test frameworks and performance tests

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in SDLC and agile methodologies.

- Able to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and meet tight deadlines.

Desired Certifications

- CSTAS and CSTAA (Software Test Automation Body of Knowledge)

- ISTQB/ISEB Foundation (Advanced preferred)

- OpenText LoadRunner Professional Certified Developer

- OpenText Unified Functional Testing Certified Developer

Preferred Experience

- Microsoft Power Platform, Azure App Service/.NET, and DB automation (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

- Mobile app/browser, GIS (Electric Office), IFS, SharePoint, SuccessFactors, AMI, and ADMS systems testing

- Designing secure, high-quality, privacy-compliant test environments

- Service-Oriented Architecture and database design principles

- Accessibility, usability, and UX-focused automation

- Mentoring, test team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration

Key Deliverables

- Automated test scripts and reusable frameworks

- Performance and load test plans

- Load testing scripts

- Test results and performance reports

- Transitioned test artifacts and documentation for future use

About the Role

This is a one-year contract role, starting July 1, 2025, with potential for extension. The position is preferably onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan, but remote options will be considered for qualified candidates. Daily bullet-style reporting is mandatory for offsite consultants. The role demands hands-on technical expertise and the ability to support multiple mission-critical testing initiatives simultaneously.
