Salary: $31-$35/hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aboriginal Health Advocate works closely with northern Sttimc communities, Interior Health, the Ministry of Health, to achieve the recommendations from the In Plain Sight Report, the Truth and

Reconciliation Calls to Action, and the goals outlined in the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) Action Plan.

The Advocate aligns with Health Quality BC philosophies that support system-wide leadership to improve the quality of care provided by the Interior Health (IH) and other healthcare providers.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • A degree in a relevant field AND five years experience working in healthcare, inter-governmental relations, negotiations,

  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and understanding of Aboriginal people and their

  • Knowledge of the provincial healthcare

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative leadership

  • Proven ability to lean-in to difficult

SALARY: $31/ hr ($58,240 annual) to $35/ hour ($63,700 annual) plus benefits dependent on education and experience
