Mission Group is looking for a part-time Community Manager to join our Property Management Team and work out of our office at Penticton office located at 285 Westminster Avenue. Reporting to the Senior Community Manager, the successful candidate will have the responsibility of managing daily operations on-site, monitoring and maintaining certain aspects of the property and grounds, providing maintenance duties as required, and building excellent tenant relations.The Community Manager is not required to live on-site but must live within a 10-minute drive of the property throughout their employment in this position.

Variable schedule, typically Thursday to Monday, 20 hours per week, and flexibility to accommodate operational fluctuations based on tenant needs and service requests.

What youll do:

  • Manage on-site operations several times per week which includes handling maintenance requests and resolving property issues.
  • Advertise suite availabilities, engage with prospective tenants and provide tours through building and suites, pre-screen potential tenants, conduct credit checks, and manage all applicable leasing processes and related documentation
  • Answer current/prospective tenant inquiries, and ensure issues and service requests are responded to in a timely manner
  • Oversee move-ins and outs, and conduct maintenance as required to return the suite to a high standard, including suite cleaning, or supervising cleaning staff for larger turnover months
  • Distribute notices as required and in accordance with the Residential Tenancy Act
  • Supervise contractors providing janitorial and landscaping duties, and complete minor common area and janitorial/landscaping duties when needed
  • Conduct general maintenance and repair capabilities, which include but are not limited to: light drywall patching and painting, HVAC adjustments and filter changes, adjusting doors, replacing smoke detectors, batteries, passcodes, shower heads, and trouble shooting mechanical, electrical and security systems
  • Actively participate in team and company meetings, providing insights and suggestions to improve processes and operational efficiencies
  • Perform administrative duties as required
  • Utilize on-site rental management software programto issue tenancy agreements and document rent payments
  • Respond to emergency calls on an on-call basis (rotating schedule)

What youll bring:

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a residential community manager/resident manager,
  • Strong customer service and administration skills
  • Proficient with computer systems, including strong MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and Personal Information Privacy Act of BC
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism, and a clean and professional appearance
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and prioritize workloads efficiently
  • Energetic, responsive team player with the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Ability to develop positive tenant relations and build a sense of community
  • Well developed customer service skills and ability to multi-task throughout the day
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent task and time management skills
  • Valid drivers license and a reliable insured vehicle
