Position: Field Service Technician Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems (VFSS)

Schedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off | 12-Hour Shifts
Opportunity Overview:
A well-established safety services provider is hiring Field Service Technicians to support Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems (VFSS) on heavy-duty and off-road equipment at major industrial and mining sites in Fort McMurray. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals seeking rotational work with fly-in/fly-out accommodations or a local housing allowance.
What You'll Do:
Inspect, service, and repair vehicle fire suppression systems on a wide range of mobile industrial equipment
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency lighting, and related fire safety equipment
Accurately complete inspection reports, service logs, and parts usage records
Deliver clear, proactive communication to clients on site, recommending corrective actions and fire safety improvements
Maintain inventory and keep service equipment organized and fully stocked
Be available for on-call and emergency response services when required
Represent the company as the on-site fire safety expert for our clients operational needs
What You Bring:
Hands-on experience servicing vehicle fire suppression systems is a strong asset
Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting background, with experience in mobile equipment or shop-based mechanical repair
Ability to read and understand technical manuals, service bulletins, and system schematics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service mindset
Proficient using mobile tech tools (iPads, apps, diagnostics, etc.)
Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug & alcohol screening in compliance with client site standards

Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting 50 lbs unassisted
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights (e.g., mine trucks, ladders)
Able to walk and work on uneven terrain in varying site conditions
Willing to work in all weather conditions and maintain strict adherence to safety policies
