Eligibility requirements
This position is partially funded by the Canada Summer Jobs fund. In order to be considered for this job you must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment contract;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment (student visas do not qualify); and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
About this Job Opportunity:
Guelph CHC is looking for a Communications Assistant to help with our communications and marketing this summer. The role will be supervised and trained by our Communications Coordinator. This position requires communications skills, a high degree of self-sufficiency, and supported problem solving. The successful applicant will need the qualities listed in the Required Qualifications section below.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Assist with executing Guelph CHCs social media and marketing strategies (creating posts, taking photos)
- Assist in-person with creation of, and printing of outreach materials (posters, pamphlets, etc)
- Assist with other communications projects as needed (presentations, reports, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- This job is based in Guelph. The successful candidate must be able to work
primarily from home, and
also in-person at Guelph CHCs various sites. The ability to get around is necessary; a G Drivers license is recommended. - Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Guelph CHC
- Commitment to equity and anti-oppressive practices
- Commitment to working safely and efficiently
- Experience with marketing, graphic design, photography and/or social media
- Strong English communication skills, including writing
- Punctuality and reliability \Strong organizational habits (multi-tasking, attention to detail)
- Teamwork and leadership abilities
- Computer skills, including Canva and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to complete a criminal background check
