Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveAccounts Receivable & Accounting Specialistto support our finance team. This hybrid role combines responsibilities inaccounts receivable management, collections, and general accounting, ensuring accuracy in financial operations and maintaining positive client relationships. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid foundation in accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Apply customer payments and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update customer records and AR aging reports.
  • Process credit memos, refunds, and account adjustments as needed.

Collections:

  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Work with clients to resolve payment issues while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Escalate delinquent accounts as appropriate and coordinate with legal or external collection agencies when necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular AR aging and collection status reports to management.

General Accounting:

  • Assist in monthly closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Help maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on audits, budgeting, and other special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or general accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in [industry, e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, dental, etc.].
  • Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
