Job Description

The Region Manager of Fire Protection will be responsible and accountable for leading a team of Profit Centre Managers in the Stewardship, Performance, Growth and Strategic Development of the Profit Centres across Canada

RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Region Manager – Westlund

Works with: Profit Centre Managers, Management Trainees, Sales Development Trainees, Future Leaders, National Support Centre, EMCO Leadership Team, Credit Department, Vendor Relations

External Relationships: Vendors, Customers, Industry Associations, Landlords and Service Providers, Recruitment Agencies, Post-Secondary Institutions

JOB DUTIES:

The role of a Region Manager at EMCO has four accountabilities and expectations to deliver the following:

Stewardship of the business model

  • Role model for Westlund's Core Values, Code of Conduct/Ethics Policy, Key Business Principles, Strategic Priorities and SPI adherence

  • Limiting expenses above the PC (Profit Centre)

  • Benchmark and share best practices with RM peers for organizational consistency across Canada

Development and selection of a world class team (PCM's, Management Trainees, Future Leaders) and includes the following:

  • World class annual Performance Feedback and Development Plans (formerly PMPs) for all PCMs

  • Supporting the PCMs in providing their teams with annual performance feedback through coaching and high expectations
  • Ensuring appropriate placement (in collaboration with the Training Team) with the best PCMs and constant personal engagement with the MTs

  • Comprehensive succession plans for each PC

  • Supporting the building of dream teams and strong bench in each PC through a Sales Development Program (SDP) with an emphasis on building and delivering world class training programs and events

  • Vigilant use of the assessment process maintaining ambitious standards on selection

Strategic Growth in the Region

  • Organic market share growth through the existing PC network or PC network expansion

  • Expansion of the business into different channels and segments that support focused businesses
  • Leveraging vendors and Westlund brand segmentation for growth

  • Stimulate innovation and initiative with the PCMs to create the right balance of risk in the region

  • Growth through acquisitions 

Results

  • Expectations of PCMs in their region to deliver 60% ROI and $40K PS/TM
  • Results must be the outcome of focus on L, P, and C.
  • Patient with a sense of urgency for PCMs moving from Foundation Phase through to Quantity Phase
  • Promote operational excellence through support of the audit process and best practices
Qualifications

Education: University degree (Business preferred)

COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to attract, hire, train, develop and retain high potential teammates

  • Previous success as a PCM/GM

  • Multi-Location responsibility (Area Manager experience an asset)

  • Respected and Trusted by the team

  • Ability to build level 5 relationships in the Vendor community

  • Record of accomplishment in Sales growth and proactive Account Management/Sales Management

  • Proven ability to execute a vision/strategy/action plan

  • Proven ability to grow market share AND deliver sustained upper quartile financial results

  • Effective in Change Management

  • Demonstrated ability to build a desirable culture that aligns with EMCO's Core Values, key business principles and strategic priorities

Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000
