Job Title: Procurement and Inventory Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Procurement and Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all procurement and inventory-related operations for the organization. This role will establish and enforce procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory levels, and improve logistics efficiency. The ideal candidate is process-driven, analytical, and experienced in procurement, warehouse operations, and logistics within the plumbing and heating industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
Design and implement a company-wide procurement process, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders.
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to diversify the vendor base and drive cost savings.
Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, and annual spend rebates to achieve better cost control and service levels.
Ensure that supplier discounts are honoured throughout the life of a contract, cross referencing supplier invoices with quotes.
Ensure all procurement and inventory transactions run through SimPRO, improving visibility and accountability.
Implement and enforce a structured purchase order (PO) approval workflow, requiring project manager authorization before issuing POs.
Provide training and support to ensure project teams follow the established procurement workflow.
Assist warehouse team with re-establishing an inventory management program including, but not limited to, re-organization the warehouse racking systems to optimize space and turn over inventory, re-labeling shelves, standardizing inventory management procedures and aligning with the procurement process.
Manage inventory of company assets including the maintenance scheduling and repair of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Collaborate with the Estimating Department to help improve the accuracy of the estimating software.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of experience in procurement, warehouse management, or logistics, preferably in the plumbing and heating industry.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost savings and supplier agreements.
Experience with procurement process design, implementation, and compliance.
Knowledge of inventory control best practices and warehouse optimization strategies.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience working in a team environment.
Proficiency in SimPRO or similar inventory management and procurement software.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to drive internal process adoption.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and report on key performance metrics.
