We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to support our growing team at our Markham Warehouse. The ideal candidate has a health & safety first mindset, has experience working within the People & Culture and/or Health & Safety space and is passionate about employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable health and safety, and labor regulations.
  • Maintain and update safety policies, training records, SOPs, and documentation.
  • Support internal and external inspections, preparing required reports and follow-up action plans.
  • Collaborate with warehouse leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Monitor workplace safety practices and participate in investigations of workplace incidents.
  • Support new hire onboarding and ensure completion of safety training and HR documentation.
  • Track certifications, work permits, and training renewals.
  • Assist with record-keeping and documentation of employee incidents and investigations.
  • Support offboarding, including exit interviews and final documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with employment standards legislation.

Qualifications:

  • 24 years of experience in a compliance, health & safety, or HR support role (warehouse or logistics environment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and employment standards in Canada.
  • Experience conducting audits or inspections and maintaining documentation.
  • Familiarity with HR processes such as onboarding, documentation, and policy enforcement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills:

  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with HRIS and safety tracking tools.
  • HCAAP Certification or experience
