The Role

Our client focuses on the distribution of construction products across Canada and the United States. In the search for a Shipper/Receiver with a Class 5 Truck Driver license for the branch in Victoria. The shift times are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of starting at 7 am or 8 am start time.

Please note this job is temporary with the opportunity for a permanent extension depending on performance after 4-5 months.

The day-to-day duties would include the delivery of products, loading/unloading of trucks, picking and packing of products, operating a forklift, and storing of products inside the warehouse and outside in the yard.

In general, drivers spend 60% of the day on the road at a minimum, delivering to locations within proximity. No overnight stay, as delivery happens within close reach and within the same day.

Responsibilities

• Operation of a forklift
• Driving a truck, ensuring products are secured
• Truck maintenance as needed
• Following road safety rules
• Receives and stocks products in the warehouse
• Loads and unloads orders/shipments
• Completes all paperwork and documentation required
• Ensures the yard and warehouse are clean and organized
• Complies with health and safety measures

Requirements

• Previousforklift operationexperience
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lifting of 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working inside the warehouse as well asoutsideunder weather conditions at the yard
• Clean driving record and driver's abstract
• Class 5Driver's license
• Strong positive attitude andstrong route knowledge

Compensation
