About the Role:

The General Manager will be responsible for Okotoks Volkswagen dealership's day-to-day operations of both the Sales and Service departments. This position ensures the consistent delivery of exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and departmental growth. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, resolving customer concerns, supporting staff development, and driving strategic initiatives for Okotoks Volkswagen. This role is responsible for dealership performance, including overseeing customer complaints and maintaining high standards across all frontline departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining cohesiveness between all departments to capitalize on opportunities and enhance services.
  • Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction across departments.
  • Assist in managing vehicle inventory efficiently and strategically.
  • Exhibit a positive, enthusiastic, and motivated attitude.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team
  • Develop and execute innovative marketing strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Collaborates closely with the Marketing department to develop and execute innovative campaigns that drive showroom traffic, enhance brand presence, and support sales objectives. They provide strategic input on promotions, digital outreach, and community engagement tailored to the automotive retail market.
  • Provide guidance and support to all staff as needed

Sales Department Oversight:

  • Support sales manager(s), representatives, and finance managers in meeting monthly targets and maintaining a high closing ratio.
  • Assist in inventory control, vehicle ordering, and lot presentation.
  • Monitor showroom traffic and sales processes to optimize efficiency and lead conversion.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and participate in customer interactions as needed.

Service Department Oversight:

  • Work closely with the Service department to ensure timely vehicle repairs, high RO (repair order) throughput, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review service metrics such as CSI scores, warranty compliance, and technician productivity.
  • Oversee scheduling and capacity planning to balance walk-in and appointment traffic.
  • Support quality control and ensure the service drive operates in a professional, clean, and customer-focused manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive dealership experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Solid knowledge of variable and fixed operations (Sales and Service).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, PBS (or equivalent DMS), and OEM tools (Volkswagen Canada systems preferred).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven decisions.

Requirements:

  • A valid AB driver's license and a current clean driver's abstract
  • AMVIC license
