Job Description

North Star Window & Doors has a current opening for an Electrician to work within their Maintenance department. You will be partnered with a team of Millwrights and other Electricians to help support the daily activities associated with supporting a thriving window and door manufacturing facility. The position is responsible maintaining, installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company initiatives. This position requires that the Electrician troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, but also engage as required on mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with plant equipment.

Starting rate of pay: $36.00 - $38.00
$1.00 per hour afternoon shift premium
Overtime paid after 42 hours per week

  • Ensure work performed adheres to relevant safety regulations, codes and specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Answer break down calls, troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment
  • Be prepared to lead, guide and teach apprentices and direct them to ensure successful task completion (if required)
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
  • Identify and report safety hazards.
Qualifications
  • Licensed 309A or 442A journeyman. Apprentice will be considered if already ticketed in a secondary discipline.
  • Good written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Good understanding of CMMS work orders systems.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Great attendance record.
  • Experience in window industry is a definite asset.
  • This position follows a bi-weekly rotating shift schedule between day shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and afternoon shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
  • Flexibility is required for this position. Overtime, weekend shifts or re-assignment to other shifts may be required based on production needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb is required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. (All PPE is provided by the Company)
  • Must be able to work safely in environments with hazards associated with the trade.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time.
