POSITION SUMMARY
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a professional Application Engineer - NX CAM to support our engineering and design teams. This role will focus on providing technical support, software customization, process automation, and training for NX users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAM, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to diagnose and troubleshoot software problems for our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Implement Customer Needs: In collaboration with experienced company colleagues, interpret expressed customer CAM needs and implement/debug using Siemens NX CAM software including Feature Based Machining (FBM) and Post Processor Configurator customization.
· Research Standard Solutions: Review public domain solutions and research conference/journal papers related to needs. Recommend solution adaptation outlines to company supervisors and, as approved, implement/debug.
· Technical Presentations:
- Summarize work challenges, accomplishments, and proposed next steps at face-face and Teams virtual review meetings. Leadership and participation in “divide and conquer” approaches to harness team knowledge and problem solving.
- Represent Siemens NX CAM and LTS support capability to potential clients and professionally assist existing customers requiring advice and possible solution customization.
· Dissemination: Clearly document learned best practices and novel solution implementation for customer and for internal reference. Create training materials for customer learning and reference. Create installation scripts for distribution of custom solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
· 3+ years experience working with Siemens NX in an engineering or technical support role.
· Strong understanding of NX CAM functionalities.
· Experience with NX Open API, Python, or other scripting languages for automation and customization.
· Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Mechatronics Concept Designer or other Siemens software.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
· Excellent communication and training abilities to support end-users.
· Experience in manufacturing processes, CNC programming, or simulation is a plus.
Preferred
· Factory Floor Experience: Hands-on factory floor experience in basic milling machine or lathe operation including CNC G-code program loading and editing This can come from a combination of academic college skills training and remunerated experience.
· CAD/CAM: Basic familiarity with a Computer Aided Geometric Design software for mechanical design and manufacturing (for example, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA, SolidEdge or Siemens NX).
· Team Communication and Collaboration: Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. A collaborative and positive “can-do” team-oriented attitude. Cheerful ability to learn from and educate other staff members.
· Computer Programming: Basic numerical methods, data structures, and algorithms computer programming skill. Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (Visual BASIC and/or Python), GitHub, and Azure Repos desirable.
· Reliable Transportation and Internet: Access to reliable transportation to as required attend meetings at LTS London company offices, or, as approved, work remotely.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Pay:
· $55,000 - $90,000 base salary depending on experience level.
