LeverageTek is actively seeking a Windows Administrator – (Active Directory) for a 3-month contract with its Ottawa based customer.
Work Location
Hybrid (required 4xdays/week on site at HQ in Ottawa)
Key Tasks
- Administer, maintain, and support Active Directory (AD), including user and group management, GPOs, DNS, and replication.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve AD-related issues, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform regular maintenance and patching of Windows Servers and domain controllers.
- Design and implement Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to manage user and computer configurations.
- Manage and maintain other core Windows infrastructure services (e.g., DHCP, DFS, File/Print Servers).
- Support identity and access management (IAM) best practices and integrations (e.g., SSO, MFA).
- Assist with security audits, compliance requirements, and implementation of AD hardening.
- Perform backup and recovery of Active Directory and related systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise IT projects.

Key Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Windows Administrator with a strong focus on Active Directory.
- Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), PowerShell scripting, and GPO management.
- In-depth knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTFS permissions, and AD replication.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of IAM principles, Kerberos authentication, and LDAP.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure AD, ADFS, or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with backup solutions for AD and recovery processes (e.g., Veeam, Windows Server Backup)
