Overview:
Urban Solar is the leading manufacturer of standalone solar energy systems for the public transportation industry in North America. Our vision is to become the top integrator of off-grid digital amenities at bus stops — enhancing public safety and encouraging the use of public transit.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with Urban Solar's cross-functional team, the Production and Supply Chain Coordinator will play a key role in realizing this vision.

What You'll Be Doing:
You will coordinate production activities, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely procurement of materials to support uninterrupted operations. You will also support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Production Oversight:
- Work closely with our remote Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Execute sourcing processes and help to identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflows, both internally and externally
- Build and strengthen relationships with key individuals at CMs to enhance collaboration
Order Coordination
- Receive purchase orders and internal purchase orders (IPOs) from external and internal stakeholders
- Verify order details and evaluate accuracy of information against checklists
Supply Chain Management:
- Manage inventory control processes both in-house and at our CMs
- Coordinate sourcing, supplier relationships and order processing to maintain a consistent supply of materials
- Plan and coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound shipments to ensure smooth operations
Process Improvement:
- Support the implementation of strategies to enhance production capacity and minimize waste
Collaboration & Communication:
- Align goals with production teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers through effective communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline assembly and delivery processes
Travel:
- Visit production facilities in the Portland area 1-2 times per year to oversee operations and foster relationships
Work Eligibility:
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a permanent and unrestricted basis (e.g., Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an open work permit with no employer restrictions). Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills for explaining technical concepts
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work closely with others within a small organization
- Positive, motivated, and enthusiastic attitude
- Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities, timelines, and complexity
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail

Location:
This position is based at Urban Solar's head office in downtown Victoria, BC.
Salary:
Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Starting salary: $55,000-$60,000/year
