Reporting to the CEO, this role will collaboratively work with industry stakeholders and partners to further develop and grow the digital media and technology sector. RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and promote the Digital Media and Technology Sector

  • Collaboratively develop and execute strategies to build and enhance the visibility of the digital media and technology (DMT) ecosystem.
  • Collaboratively develop and administer financial support program(s) for DMT.
  • Regularly track and report statistics on DMT economic activity.
  • Champion and actively market Edmonton's DMT sector to local, national, and international audiences.

Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships

  • Liaise with industry stakeholders to gather and compile data and feedback on DMT sector activity.
  • Interface and coordinate with counterparts in other jurisdictions.
  • Liaise with government officials and departments.
  • Liaise with Edmonton economic development partners, post secondary institutions, student groups, and other sector organizations to identify industry trends and opportunities.
  • Represent Edmonton Screen at various events, trade shows and meetings.
  • Act as a connector and resource to early-stage companies and founders, helping them navigate supports, funding opportunities, and growth pathways.
  • Lead business development efforts by identifying and cultivating opportunities to attract new investment and partnerships in the digital media and technology sector.

Portfolio management

  • Assist to develop Edmonton Screen business plan and budget.
  • Regularly report the status of deliverables.
  • Assist to manage DMT program budgets.
  • Assist to manage contractors and consultants who have been retained to assist with DMT portfolio projects.
  • Assist to develop or revise policies and procedures, as required.
  • Translate strategic plans into clear operational activities and manage their successful execution across the DMT portfolio.

Other duties as assigned

  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the organization's goals and objectives across all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that digital media and technology programs and activities align with organizational governance and reporting requirements, supporting transparency and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study, or combination of education and experience in the digital media and technology sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing or promoting the digital media and technology sector, with a track record of success in building partnerships and driving sector development.
