Skills and Responsibilities:

●Design, build, and maintain innovative tools and solutions to meet evolving business needs. This could be something as simple as developing a new rule to create an alert on, or as complex as helping with ML tools for event correlation.

●Leverage open source automation tools and scripting languages in commercial tools (e.g., Python, Perl, PHP) to streamline NOC information gathering, internal communication, and communication with customers.

●Create and refactor tools for logging, monitoring, alerting, and trouble ticketing by working closely with end users to identify and resolve pain points.

●Improve correlation between events and inventory to provide understanding to network engineering on devices and services impacted, reduce alert fatigue, and result in faster root cause analysis.

●Collaborate with various engineering teams to integrate observability best practices and listen to feedback to improve the system.

●Work with the NOC to analyze complex issues with data enrichment and alerting to optimize trouble tickets and alarms to be as accurate as possible, and contain the maximum amount of information available about the systems involved.

●Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for optimization.

●Stay up-to-date on emerging network technologies and best practices, becoming the beacon for best practices and efficient processes through the organization.
