About the Role!

We're seeking a skilled and proactive IT Specialist to take ownership of our Apple device management. You will be responsible for the seamless setup, configuration, and ongoing management of our fleet of MacBooks utilizing Apple Business Manager (ABM) and a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. This role is critical in ensuring the security, efficiency, and maintainability of our end-user computing environment, allowing our software development team to focus on innovation.

This is a hybrid position

You will:

• Apple Business Manager (ABM) Management:
  • Enroll and manage all company-owned MacBooks within ABM.
  • Configure and maintain device enrollment profiles and assignments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ABM features and best practices.
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) Implementation and Administration:
  • Select, implement, and configure an appropriate MDM solution for macOS.
  • Develop and enforce device configuration profiles, security policies, and compliance standards through the MDM.
  • Manage software deployment, updates, and patching through the MDM.
  • Implement and manage remote wipe and lock capabilities for lost or stolen devices.
  • Troubleshoot MDM-related issues and provide end-user support.
• Device Provisioning and Onboarding:
  • Develop and maintain efficient processes for new MacBook setup and deployment.
  • Ensure all new devices are properly enrolled in ABM and the MDM.
  • Configure initial device settings and install necessary software.
• Technical Support:
  • Provide technical assistance to employees regarding their MacBooks and related software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.
  • Document common issues and solutions.
• Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for macOS devices.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor device compliance through the MDM and take necessary actions.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about new macOS features, security updates, and MDM capabilities.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve device management processes and efficiency.

You have:

• Proven experience in managing Apple devices in a corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience with Apple Business Manager (ABM) and device enrollment program (DEP).
• Solid understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for macOS (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Addigy, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of macOS operating system, hardware, and software.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Apple Certified Support Professional) are a plus.
