About the Company - We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our growing finance team. In this position, you will own the full PnL and be an active business partner. This role reports directly to the Director, FP&A and would be three days per week in our Toronto office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight and Projections
- Oversee financial planning and analysis for general and administrative sectors, including Finance, IT, Human Resources, and Engineering.
- Develop and sustain templates for Fixed and Variable costs across all departments, ensuring they are effectively incorporated into the overarching budget and forecasting models.
- Spearhead the compilation and consolidation of the corporate budget and financial forecasts.
- Assist in preparing budget and forecast presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Monthly Financial Review
- Conduct comprehensive Variance Analysis each month to evaluate departmental expenditures, identify necessary accruals, and report findings to department heads.
- Provide monthly reporting that includes analysis of sales mix, margin assessment, business process optimization, and departmental spending.
- Profitability Analysis
- Regularly update and maintain the profitability assessment models for primary clients and product lines.
- Examine financial results and offer strategic recommendations to the Leadership Team to enhance focus areas.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop actionable plans to address identified challenges and opportunities.
- Capital Expenditure Management
- Lead the process for capital expenditures by reviewing, monitoring, reporting, and analyzing expenditure requests.
- Work collaboratively with business leaders to construct return on investment proposals for capital projects.
- Present a monthly analysis of actual spending against the budget and investment returns.
- Perform audits on all capital expenditure requests post-implementation and communicate the results to the Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- CPA designation or equivalent
- 3-5+ years' experience in FP&A
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability as an effective Business Partner
- Experience managing multiple deadlines and changing priorities
