Financial Systems Manager (Oracle EPM)

Base salary: $130-150,000 (base salary)

Location: Vancouver

A leading organization in the industrial and manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Financial Systems Manager to oversee the governance, performance, and continuous improvement of its Oracle Cloud EPM platform.

About the Role

You will be responsible for guiding a team in maintaining and enhancing a robust Oracle EPM environment that supports financial consolidation, planning, reporting, and analysis. This includes system architecture, security, data integrity, integrations, upgrades, and performance optimization.

A strong background in accounting and finance operations, particularly in environments integrating Oracle EPM with on-premise Oracle EBS, is critical.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain governance protocols, operational documentation, service agreements, and compliance frameworks aligned with internal controls and security standards.
• Lead application design, solution architecture, and configuration to meet dynamic business requirements across EPM modules.
• Develop and enforce data quality strategies including mapping, validation, and translation routines.
• Manage system patching, impact analysis, and regression testing cycles.
• Support key financial cycles including monthly close, external reporting, legal consolidations, and management dashboarding.
• Oversee the implementation of advanced FP&A practices, including financial modeling, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
• Coordinate system testing, training programs, and documentation updates during upgrades or implementations—partnering with third-party consultants as needed.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance and system issues with root-cause analysis and remediation planning.
• Contribute to internal audits, compliance reviews, and disaster recovery planning.
• Provide leadership and technical mentoring to the EPM support team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience with enterprise consolidation/planning tools, including at least 2 years managing Oracle EPM Cloud (FCCS, EPBCS, PCMCS, ARCS, TRCS, and Data Management).
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Technology, or related field (CPA or equivalent designation preferred).
• Deep understanding of financial consolidations, including FX, eliminations, multi-GAAP, ownership changes, and complex reporting hierarchies.
• Extensive experience in FP&A, forecasting models, and multi-dimensional analysis.
• Proficient with SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio, and narrative reporting tools.
• Strong command of Groovy scripting, SQL, Essbase calculations, and business rule development.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like EPM Automate, REST APIs, PowerShell, and data integration via ODI or comparable ETL solutions.
• Familiar with workforce planning, headcount and compensation modeling, and financial scenario building.
