We're looking for an organized and dynamic Events and Outreach Specialist to plan, execute, and evaluate our events and community outreach activities, driving engagement, strengthening relationships, and ensuring impactful, efficient delivery.

The Opportunity

This role is perfect for an experienced event planner and outreach professional who thrives on delivering successful events and nurturing meaningful relationships. You'll be responsible for coordinating logistics, managing partner engagement, and delivering insightful performance reports that inform strategic decisions.

What You'll Own & Deliver

1. Event Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end coordination of major and minor events.
  • Manage venue bookings, vendors, and volunteers, ensuring each event runs smoothly and is delivered under budget.
  • Oversee all on-site logistics, proactively addressing and troubleshooting issues, and maintaining Resource Works' brand standards.

2. Outreach & Partner Engagement

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new community or corporate partners for sponsorship and collaboration.
  • Collaborate on promotional strategies to boost event attendance and grow our email subscriber list.
  • Act as the primary liaison for partners, maintaining clear, consistent communication and timely fulfillment of partnership agreements.

3. Reporting & Collaboration

  • Prepare comprehensive event performance reports within five business days post-event, with accuracy in attendance and budget tracking.
  • Include actionable insights in reports to inform and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Research, Communications, and Sponsorship teams, ensuring insights from events feed into broader organizational strategies.

Technical Skills & Experience (Preferred)

  • Familiarity with event management software and tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Proven budget management skills and vendor negotiation experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to create insightful, data-driven performance reports.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in event planning, outreach, or community engagement.
  • Detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive communicator and self starter

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Efficient delivery of major and minor events, all meeting or exceeding budget targets.
  • Successful acquisition and management of partnerships, with measurable growth in subscriber engagement.
  • Timely and insightful event reports contributing to strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Positive feedback from partners, attendees, and internal teams.

Additional Details

  • Competitive hourly rate of $27 to $31.50/hr (approximately $56,160 to $65,520 annual equivalent).
  • This is a 12-month fixed-term position based in downtown Vancouver, BC.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
