Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the product development team with core and coil design, following up with electrical tests, reports and data analysis, supporting more experienced Electrical Engineers with electrical characterization of current and future products, learning best practices, and/or feeding data to the design system as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of transformers or related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.
  • Conduct basic engineering analyses to support product performance, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
  • Support failure analysis on design-related issues under the supervision of senior engineers, contributing to identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support of electrical engineering prototypes for testing (i.e. amorphous product development activities and testing).
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications and test plans, under supervision.
  • Actively participate with Manufacturing Engineering validation electrical testing activities.
  • Manage low complex core and coil designs.
  • Support experience Electrical Engineers with testing, electrical characterization, and data analysis as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting efforts to improve processes and product designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Good understanding of transformer electrical first principles.
  • Familiarity with electrical characteristics for transformers (impedance, resistance, volt/turn, ratio, etc.).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply technical knowledge under supervision.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components desired.
  • Previous working experience as Co-op / Intern desired.
  • Bilingual in French and English desired.
