Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow management
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Oversee internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial, tax, and regulatory standards
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, reviews, and banking relationships
Strategic Planning & Analysis
- Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts, working closely with department heads and senior management
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and trend insights to inform operational and strategic planning
- Monitor key financial and performance indicators to support proactive decision-making
- Support strategic initiatives with financial feasibility reviews, cost-benefit analyses, and investment evaluations
Process & Systems Improvement
- Assess, develop, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Implement or optimize ERP/accounting software tools and reporting dashboards
- Lead or support the integration of new tools, reporting processes, or organizational changes impacting finance
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Supervise or mentor a small team of accounting and administrative staff
- Partner with internal departments to ensure alignment of financial processes with operational needs
- Prepare and present financial information to senior leadership and/or Board of Directors as required
What You Bring:
- CPA designation (or equivalent experience with a strong accounting background)
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing budgets, and supporting audits
- High proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; ERP implementation or optimization experience is a plus
