Job Description

Job Title: VP of Marketing and PR

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reports To: CEO/President

Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven VP of Marketing and PR

to lead and execute our marketing and public relations strategies across all our branches. This

role will be instrumental in strengthening the brand, promoting our core values, and

enhancing our presence in key markets, including Calgary and Florida. The VP will be

responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of marketing and PR strategies

to increase brand visibility, support business development efforts, and establish the client as a

leader in the engineering and architecture sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Brand Strategy and Development:

o Lead the creation and execution of a cohesive brand strategy that aligns with

company's mission and values across all acquired firms.

o Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies to ensure

alignment of the brand identity.

o Oversee the development of a unified brand system, including logo, messaging,

tone, visual identity, and company guidelines.

o Execute the launch of new brand initiatives, including the redesign of the website

and the creation of branded templates, signage, and marketing materials.

2. Public Relations:

o Establish and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, industry

influencers, and other stakeholders to enhance brand visibility.

o Plan and execute PR campaigns, including press releases, media interviews, and

speaking opportunities at industry events.

o Strategize and manage sponsorship opportunities for industry and civic events,

focusing on promoting company's values and vision.

3. Marketing and Campaign Execution:

o Develop and manage comprehensive marketing campaigns (digital, print, OOH)

that build awareness and trust in the company's brand.

o Oversee all aspects of marketing communications including content creation,

advertising, and outreach strategies.

o Lead the execution of strategic marketing initiatives such as featuring job sites, team visuals, and case studies.

o Ensure integration of marketing campaigns with business development efforts and

client engagement strategies.

4. Thought Leadership and Community Engagement:

o Establish company as an industry thought leader by creating and publishing high quality

content, such as the “Calgary Blueprint” and “Beautiful Plan”

publications.

o Drive grassroots sponsorships and community engagement activities to foster a

positive image of Client within Calgary and Florida communities.

o Collaborate with universities, city organizations, and other community partners to

create joint initiatives, such as student design challenges and civic design projects.

5. Sales and Business Development Support:

o Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to develop and execute sales

support materials, including industry-specific sales decks, pitch decks, and

proposal templates.

o Align marketing and PR campaigns with business development targets,

particularly in the identification and targeting of the top 100 accounts in the

region.

o Support the sales team by providing branded marketing tools and customer

engagement materials to enhance outreach efforts.

6. Leadership and Team Development:

o Lead a small team of marketing and PR professionals, providing guidance and

oversight for the creation and execution of marketing strategies.

o Foster a culture of innovation and high performance, encouraging the team to

continuously improve their skills and the quality of marketing outputs.

7. Measurement and Reporting:

o Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing and PR campaigns,

ensuring that efforts are measurable and aligned with the company's growth

targets.

o Regularly report on the performance of marketing initiatives, including ROI and

impact on revenue growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field;

Master's preferred.

• At least 10 years of experience in senior marketing and PR roles, with a strong

background in the engineering, architecture, or construction industries.

• Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and PR strategies.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of marketing

professionals.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling

messages for diverse audiences.

• Expertise in digital marketing, social media strategies, and traditional PR.

• Strong knowledge of industry-specific software, including CRM tools and marketing

automation platforms.

• Ability to travel between the Calgary and Florida offices as needed.

• Experience working in a global, multi-office environment is a plus.
