POSITION OVERVIEW:

Jones DesLauriers is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be professional, courteous, and proficient in handling various administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates eager to apply their theoretical knowledge in Finance/Accounting and gain practical experience in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct direct bill reconciliations and follow up of unreconciled differences with account managers
  • Manage agency bill reconciliations and payments. Follow up of unreconciled differences with account managers
  • Preparation of daily bank reconciliations
  • Assist in completion of bordereaux (if time permits)
  • Maintain terms of broker agreements (TOBA) – including sending to new brokers and follow up for receipt/filing
  • Perform other internal reporting tasks as assigned, such as:
  • Monthly account reconciliations
  • Sales tax analysis and remittance
  • Monthly expense comparison to the previous year
  • Monthly producer selling expense reporting
  • Analysis of producer commission expense including new business audit
  • Monthly revenue comparison, including KPIs
  • P&L analysis, with commentary
  • Monthly P&L by department
  • Other duties based on individual progression in the role

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in Finance/Accounting.
  • Knowledge of the EPIC system is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with an insurance company is an asset.
  • Proficient computer typing skills and knowledgeable of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid work model (home & in office).
  • Professional in dress code and demeanor.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Team player, willing and able to adapt to change.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with excellent organizational skills.
