Our client is a major national retailer looking for a Senior Financial Analyst on their Corporate Accounting, Retail team focused on financial Results to join them on a 3 month contract. For the right candidate, there is strong potential for the role to convert to a permanent position. The role is hybrid with in office 2 days a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) located in mid town Toronto (Yonge and Eglinton).

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting Retail, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role on this dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Review monthly results from the accounting teams to pull together P&L variance analysis for the various retail business units
• Present results monthly to Senior Management typically between day 2 and day 4 of the month
• Work on balance sheet analysis and present the variances coordinating with the accounting teams to gather commentary on the individual accounts that drive the balance sheet line variances
• Liaise with the external auditors for quarterly, substantive and year-end reviews

TMGCT

• University degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA designation is a MUST
• 4+years of experience in accounting or finance coming from a large complex organization
• Retail industry experience is a huge asset
• Strong Accounting and financial results background
• Advanced level Excel skills
• Large ERP system experience, PeopleSoft and Hyperion (HFM) are an asset
• Self starter and take initiative
• Strong communications (written and verbal) and relationship building is a MUST and be able engage in investigative conversations with other groups, communicate complex concepts and present information clearly and effectively6
• Detail oriented with strong diagnostics and analytical skills
• Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the ”big picture” in a complex business environment and a natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions
• Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements
