Valet (Full-time/permanent)
The Hospital Valet is the first point of contact for patients and visitors arriving at the Emergency Department. This role is crucial in providing a professional, safe, and compassionate valet parking experience while maintaining the highest standard of care and efficiency. The valet is responsible for managing vehicle flow, ensuring timely service, and upholding the safety and integrity of all vehicles handled.
Schedule:
The Emerge Valet operation runs 7 days/week, between 7:00 AM and 12:00 AM. Shifts will be scheduled within these hours. Open availability, including weekends and holidays, is required to meet operational needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patrons and visitors, offering clear guidance on the complimentary valet service.
- Support patients when entering and exiting vehicles, including those using wheelchairs or with mobility challenges.
- Perform quick vehicle inspections, collect guest contact info, and park vehicles in designated lots.
- Retrieve and return vehicles promptly upon request, aiming for a smooth guest experience.
- Use proper PPE (masks, gloves, sanitizer) when handling guest vehicles, especially when symptoms are present.
- Maintain key security and log vehicle information accurately.
- Follow all safety procedures and hospital parking policies.
- Complete end-of-shift tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Calm and efficient under pressure, especially during medical emergencies or high-volume periods.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit a high level of professionalism.
- Physically able to stand for long periods, walk short distances, and lift heavy parking equipment.
