Job Summary:
The Software Engineer develops software for Davis Standard drives and control systems, including PLC programming, HMI systems, AC/DC drives configuration and network design. Will support in-house testing efforts and provides on-site start-up and commissioning support.

Job Responsibilities:
 Create PLC programs using ladder editor, function block diagrams, flow charts, etc. for web
converting equipment and associated functions
 Design and develop HMI applications
 Design and review PLC network architecture
 AC/DC drives configuration
 Integration of Legacy drives, controls and equipment
 Support the creation of technical product documentation and information
 In-house testing of software and systems
 Provide on-site assistance during system start-up and commissioning
 Remote and on-site customer support
 Assist Sales with pre-study analysis and reports
 Interact with customers as required
 Work closely with team members to complete projects and assignments
 Other responsibilities assigned by manager
 Awareness of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, EHS&S programs

Skills/Requirements:
 BSEE or MSEE with Controls background preferred
 Minimum 2-year technical degree
 Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering
 Knowledge of AC/DC drive systems, PCs, Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC
 Previous experience with PLCs, AC and DC Drive systems and Supervisory control systems
 Strong understanding of industrial controls networks
 Web handling and converting equipment experience is preferred, but not a requirement
 Problem solving skills
 Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required
 Strong technical aptitude and good analytical skills; organized and detail oriented
 25% travel is required; this includes North-America and international travel
 Experience with the following computer related skills:

Windows, Word, Excel
Industrial programming software such as:
Ladder Logic
Control Block Diagramming
HMI configuration software
Drives interface/programming software
