Overall Responsibility

Identified as in-house expert in the ablation and welding manufacturing processes. Collaborates with Production Manager to ensure overall operational improvements to processes and facilitate activities to increase efficiencies of all programs through in-depth problem solving and action plan implementation. Provide on-going training to identified departments to ensure competence and assist in program launch activities.

Accountabilities

  • Communicate with Production Manager, peers, or management - Providing information on processes and gaps.
  • Gather relevant data related to the ablation and welding lines - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Lead investigations on quality related issues on Weld and Ablation line.
  • Schedule and coordinate events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
  • Document and record information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Provide training to others - Identify training gaps and needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
  • Analyze data - Identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Provide consultation and advice to others - Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or process-related topics, Changeovers and process setting's
  • Back up Production Supervisor during absences and/or planned time off.
  • Assist and coordinate activities within WCM pillars.
  • Identify objects, actions, and events - Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Develop objectives and strategies - establish long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Expert on full program process related to door ring.
  • Support future development and business opportunities.
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Process information - compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
  • External communication with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, and other external sources.
  • Draft lay out, and specify technical equipment - Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Work closely with quality and R&D teams to identify gap and opportunities in process."
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Other Information

  • Travel requirement: Minimal ( +/- 15%)
  • Reporting to: Plant Manager
  • Number of direct reports: 5-10 direct reports
  • Education - level: Other
  • Education - discipline: Manufacturing Technology or other relevant experience
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years
  • Language: English (Primary)
  • English: Advanced

Other minimum requirements

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office products (advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of laser impact on Usibor/Ductibor material
  • Experience with Souvis systems a MUST
  • Working knowledge of weld prep processes
  • Knowledge of simulus systems
  • Equipment Integration & Programming (Soutec)
  • IATF Auditor certification / Training
  • Knowledge of WCM principles and applications
  • Knowledge of PPAP/PFEMA of parts & Equpment
  • Blanker background (Trouble casue analysis)
  • Monitor coil ordering delivery and Lead times
  • Experience in a Supervisory Role
  • Knowledge of Ablation and Weld Processes
  • Working knowledge of AS400 MRP (CMS)
  • Production Planning
