Merovitz Potechin LLP is seeking a Mortgage Enforcement Law Clerk with experience in mortgage enforcement and personal loans collection to join our growing team.

Summary of position:
The ideal candidate will assist lawyers with litigation matters, with a heavy focus on mortgage enforcement and personal loans collections.
Work includes, but is not limited to:
Management of mortgage enforcement process from end to end.
Communicating directly with debtors, lenders and property managers for collection purposes
Drafting documents and reports
Assembly of motion records, affidavits, other court documents as required
Arranging for service of documents
Court filing
Opening and updating files and preparing documents in the ACL software
Coordinating Bring Forwards (BFs)
Other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of litigation, law clerk, legal assistant experience; comparable office or business experience may be considered
Some experience in residential real estate files, mortgage enforcement and/or personal loans collection and/or power of sale process is preferred- Familiarity with the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure is an asset
- Familiarity with ACL Automated Civil Litigation software is an asset
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; applicants must be fluent in English.

Superior attention to detail, time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Professional, responsive and positive work attitude
Ability to accurately maintain filing systems and basic databases
Meticulous records maintenance skills.
