THE OPPORTUNITY:
As a Retool Front-End Software Developer at TechInsights, you will be at the forefront of creating and maintaining software solutions that drive our Platform forward. Reporting to the Agile Development Manager (ADM), you will leverage your strong technical background in Angular and React, SQL, and Business Intelligence (BI) visualization tools to rapidly learn and apply Retool, Amazon Quicksight, React, and related technologies to build internal tools and end-user software applications that solve complex problems and meet customer needs.
You will develop BI solutions using Amazon QuickSight to help our customers interact with and consume high-value information. With proven experience in BI visualization tools, you will create visualizations that identify industry trends, implement semiconductor use cases, and measure our Platform's usership. You will embed these visualizations in our information Platform while continuously expanding your expertise in Retool.
We are seeking a front-end software developer who will take ownership of code and designs from development through testing and deployment. You will use Retool as a specialized tool for building internal applications and streamlining end-user experiences. In addition to developing software, you will contribute to our Agile environment, participate in process improvements, and grow into a technical expert within your domain. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop, Implement, and Maintain Software
- Develop proficiency in Retool to build custom internal applications and tools that meet the functional and non-functional requirements of the business.
- Create BI visualizations in QuickSight that meet functional and non-functional requirements, leveraging your existing BI tools expertise.
- Develop custom web UI in Angular and/or Retool
- Collaborate with Product Owners to define and refine requirements for software tools and applications.
- Fully understand engineering technical design specifications, ensuring solutions are aligned with system integration and feasibility.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure reliable software solutions.
- Actively engage in design and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
- Document implementations and solutions clearly and concisely for future development.
- Conduct automated and manual testing of your code, ensuring quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using Git, ensuring reliable and efficient code deployment.
- Collaborate with internal users to perform user acceptance testing, address defects, and make necessary adjustments.
- Manage the deployment of software applications, ensuring timely releases and effective monitoring of software-related issues.
- Work within schedules to release software to customers, promptly addressing any software issues post-release.
- Apply patches, updates, and bug fixes to ensure the stability and functionality of deployed software.
- Assist in triaging reported issues and correcting defects promptly.
- Act as a point of contact for internal users, providing support on tools built with Retool and other custom applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide recommendations on platform enhancements and strategic software implementations.
WHO YOU ARE
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant technical discipline.
- 1-2 years of professional software development experience
- Technical Skills:
- Industry experience with Amazon QuickSight or comparable Business Intelligence visualization tools
- Strong programming skills in React and Angular
- Proficient in SQL database management
- Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control
- Strong coding skills in React to build and enhance custom web applications
- Experience or strong desire to become proficient in Retool or similar low-code/no-code platforms
- Working knowledge of SQL/noSQL database variants (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with software management tools including Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Experience with automated testing frameworks
- Some experience building custom web application Front-Ends in Angular
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven design, or custom ETL solutions
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze, debug, and optimize complex systems
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Self-Motivation: Independent, proactive, and able to prioritize tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
