What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage and maintain the day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and journal entries
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with CRA requirements, remittances, and government reporting
  • Prepare regular financial reports, reconciliations, and assist with monthly and annual closing procedures
  • Maintain digital and paper records in a secure and audit-ready state
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax filings including GST/HST, WSIB, and other regulatory requirements
  • Support budget planning, cash flow forecasting, and expense tracking
  • Assist management with financial decision-making by providing timely and accurate data
  • Help develop and refine internal financial procedures and controls
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors when required
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure financial and operational alignment
  • Support the leadership team with ad hoc financial reports and project tracking
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Other administrative duties as required

What You Bring to the Team

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
  • Minimum 23 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably in a cannabis environment
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices and payroll regulations
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, or other bookkeeping/accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Experience preparing reports, budgets, and reconciliations
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and cloud-based document systems
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team
  • Experience in the cannabis or manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of B300 excise stamps is an asset
