What You Will Be Doing
- Manage and maintain the day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and journal entries
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with CRA requirements, remittances, and government reporting
- Prepare regular financial reports, reconciliations, and assist with monthly and annual closing procedures
- Maintain digital and paper records in a secure and audit-ready state
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax filings including GST/HST, WSIB, and other regulatory requirements
- Support budget planning, cash flow forecasting, and expense tracking
- Assist management with financial decision-making by providing timely and accurate data
- Help develop and refine internal financial procedures and controls
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors when required
- Collaborate across departments to ensure financial and operational alignment
- Support the leadership team with ad hoc financial reports and project tracking
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Other administrative duties as required
What You Bring to the Team
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
- Minimum 23 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably in a cannabis environment
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices and payroll regulations
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, or other bookkeeping/accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Experience preparing reports, budgets, and reconciliations
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite and cloud-based document systems
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team
- Experience in the cannabis or manufacturing industry is an asset
- Experience and knowledge of B300 excise stamps is an asset
