Assistant Controller
Agriterra Equipment is one of North America's largest AGCO agricultural equipment dealers representing exceptional brands, including Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Bourgault, Morris, Versatile and Cub Cadet. We have grown from 3 locations (in 2013) to 10 in Alberta and have been consistently in AGCO North America's Circle of Excellence Top 20 dealer group.
We are looking for an exceptional Assistant Controller to join our team in our Stony Plain, AB location. An experienced professional with an established track record in a similar position and who has a strong understanding of finance and accounting, management and leadership skills, and a keen, analytical eye with excellent attention to detail.
What makes the role exciting and what does it involve?
This position is part of the Head Office accounting group, reports to the Corporate Controller and provides growth opportunities.
The role requires examining and analyzing accounting and financial records, documents, and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
Works with the corporate accounting team in preparation of month-end and year-end financials, monthly branch review packages and year-end audit requirements.
Overseeing and executing payroll functions, working with benefit companies, and addressing employee payroll issues.
Supporting the Corporate Controller in the finance and commercial functions including dealing with banks, financing agencies, insurance, and compliance agencies.
Providing leadership, training, and development to the accounting and administration staff.
What are we looking for?
Experienced accounting professional with over 5 years work experience and has the Chartered Professional Accountants designation.
Has professional work ethics, maintains confidentiality, has a positive attitude and is a good team player.
Strong people skills, communication, and time management skills. Organized and have a strong attention to details.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. Advanced excel skills will be an added asset.
